Batman #227 is a significant and collectible comic book within the Batman series for many different reasons. First is Batman #227 is referred to as a ‘cover swipe’ – meaning the cover artwork is inspired by a previous comic book cover … in this case Detective Comics #31. Other collectors believe that Batman #227 represents a turning point in the franchise series, where story-lines began to reflect the darker image Batman portrays to this day. Both add up to a comic book that is still very desirable & collectible to this day – which mean finding issues in good condition can lead to a serious pay day if you wanted to sell.
