Issue number 11 features one of the most iconic covers with Superman breaking out of chains around both his arms and legs. The copy pictured below was sold ungraded, and appeared to be in about the condition most people find them in. The seller in the description mentions that he feels the comic is un-restored and he felt it would grade out in the VG range. The issue also contains a half page ad for All Flash Quarterly #1

There is a Lex Luthor and Jimmy Olsen appearance in Superman No 13. There is also a text story by Gardner Fox. More often than not, if you are lucky enough to find a rare vintage DC Superman comic book it’s often in very rough shape like the one pictured here. This copy had all the pages and page #1 had some pieces missing from a corner. The cover was loose from the rest of the book, but was still in tact. As you can see, even in this kind of condition, you can sell them for a decent amount of money.

This issue featured the ‘Classic Shield cover’ and had an ad for Sensation Comics #1. The distinctive black background on this one makes it hard to miss. This copy was graded CGC 5.5 and had Cream to Off-White Pages (CR/W).

The “World’s Greates Adventure-Strip Character” is written on the front of this vintage issue of Superman. This copy was graded CGC 6.0 and had Cream to Off-White Pages (CR/W). The centerfold was detached, but overall it was in nice looking condition.

This cover features Lois Lane with Clark Kent walking by a statue of Superman. It’s also the first cover Lois Lane ever appeared on. We could not find a recent sale of this Superman Comic book in the 2012 calendar year – however this ungraded copy was for sale on eBay with a Buy-It-Now (or Best-Offer) of $450.00 The seller felt the condition would be similar to a CGC G+VG Restored.

Hitler and Hirahito on this cover iconic Nazi Germany war-time cover. Lex Luthor appears in this issue. The 1st Fortress of Solitude called secret citadel & mountain retreat. The seller of this rare comic book pictured below stated that the book was in VF MHP condition. It was not restored, and did not have any repair work. It was in a condition you rarely find vintage Superman comic books – and sold for an amount that far exceeds most others sold within the last year. He was asking $2,900 but accepted an offer $200 less.

An epic cover where Superman is lifting a car. The issue pictured below is for a detached cover and off-white pages. The seller listed the comic in good (G) condition, and would probably grade out fairly low. However, finding any authentic graded copies for sale is rare. The seller was asking $249.99, but took about $50 off.
